SPLIT PAYMENT: UNINTERRUPTED APPLICATION AFTER 30 JUNE 2026
Dear clients,
the Council of the European Union is currently considering the European Commission's proposal to renew the authorization for the application of the VAT split payment mechanism beyond 30 June 2026. The procedure is expected to be concluded on 10 July. As the authorization takes effect from 1 July 2026, those concerned may continue to apply the VAT split payment mechanism without interruption after 30 June 2026.
The measure is intended to remain applicable until 30 June 2029 to the same taxpayers that have been subject to it up to now. (Press release no. 77 dated 30 June 2026 of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance)
